Christians believe that humanity was created by God to care for his good creation and to live in a relationship with him. But we have turned our backs on God and exploited creation for our own ends.
We find ourselves living in a broken world, pitted against each other and cut off from God.

God’s loving rescue plan, worked out through Jesus Christ, is to reconcile all things and all people to himself, to save us and raise us to a new life, and finally to renew the whole of creation.

The central event of this plan was when God’s son became a human being, gave his life for us on the cross, and rose again.
Christianity proclaims that Jesus’ death on the cross paid off our debt for all the wrong that humans have done, and this is what restores the broken relationship between God and people.
All those who believe and trust in Jesus Christ receive the gift of God’s Holy Spirit to enable them to become more like Jesus day by day as they look forward to living with God forever in his new creation.
