Westbrook Church in the Community
Thursday Club
Formerly known as Thirst Days, Thursday Club is a FUN club for children of approximately 5-11 (Primary School age) which is deliberately as UNLIKE school as is possible.
It comprises NOISY and BOISTEROUS games and activities, songs and dance, all with a christian theme.
The games are usually at the request of the children and the rules have to be learnt by the leaders first!
Thursday Club runs from 4pm - 5.30pm every Thursday, during term-time.
On occasions there will be hand crafts - like making paper aeroplanes or hats for a party but otherwise Thursday Club
activities are not like school at all.
Sometimes we are able to have visiting 'entertainers' with puppet shows, drama & musical instruments.
During the session, drinks and refreshments are served and there is a story time (some stories are from the Bible, but most are based on real life)
and it is only at these times that the children are quiet!
Our aim at Thursday Club is for everyone to learn to respect and love each other - and to respect their elders ... oh and to have FUN.
So why not come to Thursday Club and see for yourself?
It costs 20p per child per session - sorry, adults are NOT invited,
so they will just have to go and find something quiet to do for an hour and a half......
